STRONGER TOGETHER

Trump doesn't want peace.

He wants to provoke a backlash to justify an even more draconian crackdown — and today, Trump reiterated his threat to invoke the Insurrection Act, which would allow him to deploy active-duty U.S. military forces against the American people.
This is a national emergency, and we must take action — peacefully — to stop it.

We are nearly at the one year anniversary of Trump's January 20 inauguration - please show up in defiance of the tyranny he is creating. Keep reading!

Your next actions & events

1. Tell the Nevada County Board of Supervisors we reject ICE.

We need to jump on this opportunity to let our local leaders we do not want ICE in our communities. California’s sanctuary laws are not enough. We need local leaders willing to act with courage — to make visible commitments and to stand with every member of our community. Moral leadership means standing up, especially when it’s hard. This is our home - our families, our friends, and our neighbors. In the face of authoritarian rule, we must stand united to protect one another.

  • Sign the petition that will be given to the Board of Supervisors (BOS)

  • Volunteer to help with obtaining signatures in our community.

  • Stay tuned for news about writing letters/emails to the BOS and showing up to their meetings.

2. PROTEST - Show up Tuesday, January 20 at 2pm

We know it's a Tuesday, but all across the country people will be walking out of work, schools, and businesses. Show up locally:

  • Support NU students - they will be walking out of class at 2pm. Show up in support of the students - the NU Theater parking lot on Ridge Rd.

  • Support Women - the Democratic Women of Nevada County are hosting a WOMEN-CENTERED protest at Brunswick & Sutton, 2pm. WOMEN: please gather behind the old 3 Kings Restaurant (Safeway corner) by 1:45pm.

  • Or show up at Mill and Neal streets in Grass Valley at 2pm.

3. Sign up for the revival of the Bridge Brigade!

We need more volunteers to hold banners at Dorsey - letting our community know that the tyranny needs to end. It's fun and a great way to get involved. Email us!
