We will be writing to our friends and neighbors in Nevada County, encouraging them to vote in the Primary Elections in June. Our Guest Speaker, Terry McAteer will speak on the importance of the local elections and the importance of voting in the Primaries for a Democratic Governor.

Then we’ll take action together.

Postcard writing is one of the simplest and most effective ways for constituents to communicate directly with elected officials—and it’s even more powerful when we do it together.

Together we’ll write handwritten postcards to California Senators and members of Congress urging them to:

• Oppose U.S. escalation and war in Iran • Demand accountability and humane policies from ICE • Release the full Epstein files and ensure transparency and accountability.

A guest speaker (TBD) will briefly share context on what’s happening nationally and why grassroots pressure right now matters.

Health & Safety for Activists

Learn how to keep yourself and your community members safe during protests and other events. Participants will learn about the buddy system for safety, scene awareness, and understanding how to navigate law enforcement tactics. - Participate in hands-on training in chemical weapons decontamination and first aid for traumatic injuries. - Learn how to communicate effectively with first responders.

This training is led by a medical professional with experience as a street medic, but is not a street medic training nor does it convey any certification. The goal is to empower peaceful protesters to stay safe in stressful, dynamic situations and to be ready to help in an emergency.

Meet at the Rood Center at 11:00 a.m., we will leave by 11:30 a.m. to march through Nevada City, past SPD, down Old Nevada City Highway, and end up at the Brunswick overpass by 1:00 p.m. If you can't make it to the march, meet us at the Brunswick overpass at 1:00 p.m. Bring comfortable walking shoes, lots of water, your friends, signs, and energy!!
