1/28/26 Newsletter - Big Event Next Week (and call Senators NOW)

STRONGER TOGETHER

The anti-ICE rhetoric has exploded.

Here is what writer Heather Delaney Reese shared yesterday:

People are speaking out. You can’t open a social media app right now without seeing people speak up. And I’m not just talking about activists or political accounts. I’m talking about regular people. Food creators. Book reviewers. Artists. Parents. Crafters. People who usually stay out of it. And now they’re making it known that they don’t stand with Trump. They don’t support ICE. They don’t believe cruelty makes us strong. And they’re doing it in their own way, in their own voice, from the platforms they’ve already built.
It’s amazing to see. Because this is how we reach people.
And when they see others speak up, it gives them permission to do it too.

This is how the tide turns.

Join us next week to further that tide here in Nevada County.
And scroll down to call senators - they need to hear from us.

Act RIGHT NOW Against ICE

  1. CALL SENATORS TODAY - THEY ARE VOTING NOW! Schiff and Padilla are against ICE funding in the budget bill, but let them know that some of the new proposals don't do enough. Please tell them:
"Do not support any DHS bill that gives ICE and Border Patrol more funding or fails to rein in their abuses. End CBP deployment in our cities, stop family detentions, and prohibit ICE and CBP from targeting people based on ethnicity and place of employment."
    SENATOR ALEX PADILLA: 202-224-3553
    SENATOR ADAM SCHIFF: 202-224-3841

  2. LOCALLY: Sign our online petition to tell Nevada County supervisors to stand with us against ICE. SIGN HERE.
