Don't Forget About Your Action This Week
 

BOYCOTT!  Nov 27 - Dec 1

This Black Friday weekend, we’re joining with a super-team of organizers -- the Target Three, Black Voters Matter Fund, Until Freedom, Working Families Party, 50501, and more -- to issue a shared collective call: We Ain’t Buying It.

Our call to action here is simple: Pause your spending with these THREE companies from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. Together, we’ll send them a simple message: ”Stop enabling Trump’s attacks on our values, our neighbors, and our democracy!”

HOME DEPOT enables ICE terrorism by allowing Trump’s jackboots to violently detain and kidnap workers on its properties.

TARGET caved to MAGA backlash by pulling Pride merch off the shelves, and canceled DEI programs that support Black workers and businesses.

AMAZON provides technology to power ICE deportations while Jeff Bezos spends a fortune kissing up to Trump -- funding both his MAGA agenda and vanity projects like his ballroom.

This holiday season, let’s make our dollars count. Join us to tell these companies: When you support Trump, we don’t support you.

SHOP LOCAL INSTEAD

We are so lucky to have such amazing local shops here in Nevada County. Keep our dollars local and support our hardworking small businesses. During the holiday season we also have fun events to buy creative gifts - Victorian Christmas (starting Dec 7), Cornish Christmas (starting Nov 28), and the Nevada City Craft Fair (Miners Foundry, Nov 30).

A Special Thank You Note from Gui

You might remember the story of Gui and Rachel, friends of INC. Gui was taken by ICE in July. We helped his wife, Rachel, fight his detainment and arrest, and we connected them with lawmakers. The struggle was long and difficult, but Gui was released in September, just in time for the birth of their son, Izzy. His immigration hearing is set for early January.

We received a letter from Gui recently, written when he was still detained in prison and after he received postcards from many of you. Here are some of his words to you ...

"First of all, thank you so much for taking your precious time to put so much love together. The week I received the messages was such a hard one, on weeks like that the hope seems to be so far away, as far as the Moon, receiving letters and postcards can really save my mind from loneliness and a chain of bad intrusive thoughts. 

Receiving unexpected love is something so precious to me. I'm someone that will drop seeds of love, peace, and freedom wherever I go, and even not knowing you all's faces I can tell that our souls speak the same language.

The urge for equality, freedom and justice should be shared loudly, that's the only way we have to protect our brothers and sister that have been smashed by a system that through layers of cruelty have been destroying families, dreams, and agents of peace.

Please keep fighting, please keep writing, please keep caring. I'm feeling extremely blessed for having so much support from friends all over the US and Brazil.
