Lots of you showed up at the NJUSD board meeting Wednesday night and/or emailed the board with your thoughts. Way to show up for our kids, schools, teachers, and the community.
Even after an overwhelming number of people spoke against him, Andrew Klein was elected as the Board President again. We now need to hold him accountable. And we need to make sure that the open seats in the November election get filled with individuals who actually care about the emotional well being of the students, and who will take the job seriously.
Recently, our community has experienced a series of violent attacks against local teens - committed by young adults and high school students, and on December 3, a racially motivated attack that sent a man to the hospital.
This Saturday, tomorrow, show up at Brunswick to voice your concern about these attacks. Bullying, racism, harassment, and violence is happening - in our schools and on our streets. Show support for the victims and demand accountability and transparency from the Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's Office.
